First Skate Tour in St.-Petersburg (Russia):

St. Petersburg was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 and also used to be called Petrograd and Leningrad. This stylish city, with beautiful palaces, broad streets and wonderful churches, is the birthplace of Russia's most beloved poem writer Alexander Pushkin and music composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

St. Petersburg lies on the banks of the Gulf of Finland, linked with the Baltic Sea. Many 'arms' of the Neva River goes right through the heart of the city and dividing St. Petersburg in over 140 smaller islands. During the summer there is a period that, in St. Petersburg, the sun hardly goes under, the famous "White Nights".

There is 24 hours of daylight and therefore the perfect place to skate! We have planned at least 2 'night skate' tours, when the city is sleeping and the streets quiet.

A perfect setting for a skate tour. For the 'day skate' tours, we are heading for the satellite cities, where it is not so crowded and lots of interesting things to see. A unique skate trip for those who join, as it is the first of it's kind in St.Petersburg.

The ingredients: flight via Scandinavia from Amsterdam to St. Petersburg, transfer to the hotel v.v., 7 nights hotel - sharing twinrooms with breakfast, 2 skate tours during the night as we have clear daylight, visit to the 101,5 meters high and with 112 granite pillars decorated: St. Isaac Cathedral, a Russian show, a visit to the Hermitage - including the Winter Palace (one of the biggest museums in the world, with a variety of famous art collections of the world), by boat to Kronstadt and back on skates, by bus to Petrodvorets (Peterhof) with it's beautiful fountains, gardens, palace and back by boat, visiting museum city Pushkin, and much more. Some items will be done on skates, others on foot.
