Bread and Circuses! - Pushkin-to-St.Petersburg Race
(September 22, 2002)

On September 22, 2002. there was an annual Pushkin-to-St.Petersburg race (for runners). Skaters and bikers also run all the distance (30 km), and then visited a Bread Show.

We (local skaters and bikers) decided to run this race (not for result) despite of the weather. It was very cold (about + 3 oC) and winding.

The Pushkin-to-St.Petersburg race is a regular annual event. We would like to skate all the distance of 30 km (some skaters already skated there several times) in comfortable conditions: local road police escorted runners …. and us.

After race, we would like to visit an Ostrovsky Square where a Bread Show was organized.

Our whole group is ready to start

At the Bread Show

Many local bread-baking plants decided to show their bread products, even castles! It was a real competition for the best product (helas, I do not know results). We also met different funny personages.

We hope to skate this race also next year. Join us!
