Friday Night Rivers and Canals
(August 23, 2002)

On August 23, 2002, an FNS was organized in St.-Petersburg, using a new route called 'By embankments of rivers and canals.

This year we skated different routes during our Friday Night Skates: to the airport , via islands in main city districts etc. Finally, we decided to skate embankments of rivers and canals (Fontanka, Moika and Griboedov).

These are main and very beatiful rivers in St.Petersburg. Many palaces, churches, hotels and famous buildings are located on their embankments. Those of different styles, periods and purposes.

In addition, we crossed several excellent bridges.

At the very end of this FNS, we skated into 'Mother-in-Law's Pancakes' Bistro, which is open 24 hours a day.
