Skating bypass road
(April 28, 2002)

On April 28, 2002 two local skaters tested a bypass road.

Together with Michael (Mishka), we decided to skate a local bypass road (from Gorskaya to Pargolovo). This road section was put into operation last autumn, and we never skated there yet.

Different views to bridges and crossroads.

From here you can skate many ways: to Sestroretsk, Kronstadt (via dikes), St.Petersburg or Pargolovo. Traffic (on the bypass road) is very small.

The surface of bypass road is good. There is no uphill or downhill sections. The total distance of bypass road is about 18 km (to Pargolovo). If speaking about its last 5 km, you can skate a reserve middle part (its width is 8 to 10 m) with an excellent asphalt.

During this trip, it was raining (see pictures), so I 'lost' my SKF5 bearings. And Michael had no such problems, because he uses Russian water-proof bearings.

We were very satisfied with our skate.
